Yesterday, I biked to our allotment. I needed to cut away many black kale leaves for our vegan kale pasta dinner that we were going to eat. I will give you a winter update.
We have pulled up a lot of Jerusalem artichokes. One plant out of the 6, already gave us + 4 kg! Ooh yes. We dug up another plant, it also gave us + 4 kg! The rest of them is still in the ground. I know that we are going to leave a few of them for getting new plants later in the year. You know that we have made a plastic barrière for them before planting.
We still have 2 aka 1 + 1/2 black kale plants over,…ooh yes & the leaves are still very yummy & tasty! 🙂
And here the other 1/2 black kale plant:
And here is the rest of the garden:

Thanks, Angie! 🙂 xxx
Everything looks good! You are a very talented gardener
Thank you, dear Lina! There isn’t much happening now in the garden!
Wow! I am so impressed by that garden! The kale is wonderful. I’d love to plant wild leeks. Thanks for showing us everything:)
We planted them last November, it was the 1st time de did that! 🙂
Amazing testament that you can garden through the winter!
yes, Susan but we didn’t have much of a winter yet!
We are the same! I’m still snipping herbs from my garden. But a big snow is predicted for Friday!
Wow, that’s so organic!
Thanks! This year we are trying to do it more like permaculture too!
That’s great! Keep it up!
🙂
Love your garden, Sophie. You got me psyched to begin my own in the spring. Keep it coming!
Thanks, Jim!
That’s great that you still are getting something out of your garden! Mine is covered in snow 😉
Today, it is snowing & the last days, it has been freezing a lot.
It’s amazing what you can continue to grow and harvest even throughout the winter!!
Thanks, sweet Koko! 🙂
I love seeing your allotment 🙂
Thanks, sweety! 😀
Very smart to make a plastic barrier before planting the Jerusalem artichoke they can take over the entire garden if not kept under control.
I know! 🙂
Nice! I love sunchokes, Jerusalem artichokes, or what every you want to call them! 🙂
hahahahaha! Me too! x
I love these pictures Sophie!
Thanks, tammy! 🙂 Glad that you enjoyed them! x
Such a beautiful post, dear Sophie! I was just wondering what your allotment would look like in full Winter time! Beautiful & still so much to eat! yes!
Great minds think alike! 🙂
