I had a lot of bags of frozen cranberries left in my freezer & I had to use them up to stock new bags in the near future. Cranberry season is very near, here in Belgium! 🙂
Over the few years, I have made a lot of cranberry recipes. So, if you also have a few bags left, you can make these easy to make & tasty cranberry recipes, using these cranberry bags, from Ocean Spray, from your freezer. Just click onto the titles or onto the pictures to go to the recipes! Always rinse the cranberries before use, remove the stalks & bad cranberries, even when they are frozen! I bag = 12 ounces = 340 gr = 3 cups.
1. Chicken with a cranberry, port & orange sauce, served with sugared braised endive (witlof ) with baked potato wedges! Yum! And with home-made cranberry, port & orange sauce! ( The sauce is Dairy-Free, Vegan, Vegetarian & Gluten-Free too! )
2. Cranberry, pecan & orange muffins ( Are vegetarian )
3. Spiced cranberry & orange relish ( The relish is Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy-Free & Gluten-Free too )
And now, a new cranberry recipes of mine: I hope you like it, too! 🙂 Enjoy, my lovely ones!
4. Frozen cranberry & cashew smoothies!
Recipe: For about 1400 ml, nearly 6 cups!
Ingredients:
1 heaped cup frozen cranberries, cranberries rinsed under cold water, stalks & bad cranberries removed
2 cups mineral water
1 cup + 1/2 cup soy milk or your favourite plant-based milk ( but not rice milk = too thin! )
1 heaped cup cashews, soaked for at least 2 hours or for 1 night, in the fridge, rinsed & well-leaked
4 tablespoons organic agave syrup
2 teaspoons ground flaxseed
Method:
1. Take your Vitamix container & add in this order: cranberries, 3 tablespoons agave syrup to begin with, 1 heaped cup of soaked cashews, flaxseed, water & soy milk.
2. Add fitting lid & tamper too. Mix on high full power until it is completely smooth. Begin with 3 tablespoons of agave syrup. Push the tamper up & down, so that the foods go into the blades. Mix for about 30 seconds to 1 minute or until it is completely smooth. Turn power off. Taste!
3. If it isn’t that sweet, add 1 to 2 tablespoons agave syrup extra. I added 4 tablespoons agave in total! But you must taste the cranberries & the cashews too! 🙂
4. Pour into serving glasses & enjoy instantly or place into the fridge to cool off a bit. Enjoy with a loved one !! Stay tuned, Subscribe by email through the link below to get my new cool newsletters aka posts! Join 1,850 email Subscribers! It is free!
It’s so hard for us to buy frozen cranberries. I always try to buy them around Christmas time so I can make my own cranberry sauce to have with the turkey but I’m not always successful. Cranberries have only been seen in this country in about the past five years (never fresh, always frozen) but they are VERY hard to find. xx
We only can find them in a short time , near Christmas, in a few large supermarkets.
We only can find Ocean Spray & it is pretty expensive here! They are here only for about 1 month to 2 months max. & that’s why I buy them in 10 packagas at a time to put in my freezer for the whole year. Last year, I bought 20 pacakages & used them up in all of my cranberry recipes, shown here & in experiments too! 😉 xxx
I always make my own home-made cranberry sauce & cranbbery jam too!
We get that brand of cranberry juice here 🙂
We can get this cranberry juice alos over here in a few supermarkets!
I love cranberries – I was once lucky enough to go to a cranberry bog in New England that looked like a red lake when they harvested – beautiful. Love the idea of a frozen cranberry smoothie!
You were indeed very lucky!
That would have been so cool for you! A waw-experience!!
Good girl! You cleaned out your freezer and used up those cranberries! My favorite recipe here is the cranberry cashew smoothie! What a great idea!
Ooh yes, but I have still 5 bags left!
I need to invent more home-made cranberry recipes! I knew that you all would love that smoothie! 😉
Sophie – your cranberry smoothie sounds delicious! We are pretty lucky in Canada – I get the same brand fresh. And throughout the year we can also buy them frozen.
Yes, it is a Canadian brand: lucky you! Is it also very expensive over there in Canada???
These recipes are amazing.
thank you for the ideas
You are welcome, Alberto! Enjoy them!
All these recipes look and sound amazing! Cranberries are so delicious and SO healthy for us!! I really want to make those muffins, they looks so awesome and so convenient!
Those muffins are made before eating a lot vegan & more healthy!
Oh my gosh can I order a couple of muffins and a smoothie?!?!!
🙂 yes!
Oh my yummyness! Question, ? Is the mineral water you used in the recipe fizzy (sparkling) or plain? Intrigued! 🙂
No, just plain mineral water. the air bubbles that you see into the smoothies, is coming from my Vitamix machine that processes it all on super powerful speed! That’s what you see!
Ah 🙂 I see, usually when people refer to mineral water in the states, they are referring to the sparkly variety. I thought that would be strange. Just checking 🙂
🙂
That looks delicious Sophie!! Everything! I just bought cranberries this week too! I can’t wait to make recipes with them! That relish looks amazing!!
Thanks so much, Brandi! Enjoy the recipes too!
We get fresh cranberries around Thanksgiving and Christmas. May be we have frozen ones too, should check next time i visit the supermarket.
You sure made a lot of recipes with your cranberries.
We can’t buy them frozen, I just freeze my bags, just like that. they will keep in my freezer for up to 1 year! Really good cranberries!
Yay! LOVE cranberries and always have a box in my freezer. The Spiced cranberry & orange relish is absolutely on my ‘can’t wait to make it’ list! That sounds like a perfect one for Christmas…
Yeah, me too! I hope you will love it as much as we did! 🙂
Oooh, cranberries and cashews – can it get any better? Sounds like a gorgeous, creamy, tangy treat!
It isn’t that tangu because I added 4 tablespoons of organic agave! But a bit tart yes!
Ah, an ingredient I don’t use enough! I think I also have some bags of frozen cranberries in the freezer. I should really try and use them more, because these recipes look so good!!
Ooh,..a big thanks, Koko! Enjoy those tasty cranberries: let them shine!
love the cashew cran smoothie. I finished up my cranberries long backa nd i cant wait for them to show up again!
Haha I think you put your raspberries up to perfect use 😀
Yum!
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
Thanks, my friend! But It were cranberries: see 1st picture above! 🙂
Wowzaa awesome recipes and yay for using up the cranberries! That relish sounds delicious!
Thanks & do enjoy them all! Welcome to my blog too!
Those smoothies sound and look amazing, Sophie!
Thanks, dear Celia! 🙂
I wish we could get bags of cranberries here! I can only find dried ones!
Yes, me too! I can only buy them fresh but directly put them just like that in my freezer!
Cranberries are not very common here, and as such I never really liked them. Last year, I spent a fair bit of time in North America and grew to love them….they are in everything! Those muffins look fantastic!
Thanks, they are also so easy to make!
So many fantastic recipes (as always!). I love the idea of the muffins especially, I think I may have to experiment with a bit of veganisation so that I can tuck in too!
I think it is easy. You can use 2 flax eggs instead of the eggs & use plant-based milk instead of the milk and voila! All veganized !
Can you use frozen cranberries in the sauce? We don’t have fresh yet!
Yes, you can , you just ahve to cook the sauce a bit longer & add a few splashes of red port extra!
Sophie, I never bought frozen cranberries…but sure you have lots of awesome recipes with cranberries…they all look great and so tasty.
Hope you are having a fantastic week 🙂
No, we also can’t buy frozen cranberries! I forgot to mention that! I can only buy them fresh but directly put them just like that in my freezer! They keep well for more than 1 yaer! Yes!
I love easy and nutritious recipes from frozen delights! Love the cashew cranberry smoothie 🙂
Thanks so much, dear Kiran!
Cranberries, a favorite around here, and a real treasure in the Fall season.
Yep, I so agree!
Great suggestions for using up leftover cranberries! I think the cranberry and cashew smoothie is my favourite of the bunch. Looks amazing!
Thanks, Amber! Try it!
The smoothie looks good! I love cranberries!
Me too! 🙂 Enjoy it all!
