People,…It’s a wrap! :)

Today, I invented these tasty beauties! Ooh yes,…It’s a wrap! These lovely dark yellow wraps are Raw, Vegan, Gluten-free, Corn-free, Soy-free, Egg-Free Dairy-free curry coconut wraps! They are just AMAZING!!! I found mine in a tiny vegan shop in the city center of Leuven, called SHAVT. This stands for Simple Healthy & Vegan Things!

Read on for more cool information & How I made these tasty filled wraps!

These raw wraps are curried coconut wraps. They are a product of the Philippines. Their ingredients are: coconut meat, coconut water, Himalayan pink salt & curry powder. So, it is all good for you! I don’t know anymore how much this packet with 4 wraps in them costed, but I thought it was reasonably priced. Here are the nutrition facts: Read on this picture! Their are from the brand: The

The wraps are eaten straight from the package, you must not store them in the fridge or heat up!!! It is stated onto the package!

Each packet holds 4 curry wraps in  them. The front of the package looks something like this:

The Pure Wraps! The best ever Raw wraps!
The Pure Wraps! The best ever Raw wraps!

I ate 2 of these filled beauties as a nice healthy lunch & filled them with this recipe. The wraps are a bit smaller as normal sized wraps & a bit more greasy too. You can fill them up nicely but you must use your 2 hands to gobble them up. Then you need to wash your hands but that is not a problem I believe, is truly finger food! x Ha!

Recipe: For 2 filled curry coconut wraps

1 witloof, ( chicory also called Belgian endive) cleaned, cut up into smaller strip, hard bitter end, cut out (130 gr)

3 cups spinach leaves, well pushed into the cups ( 125 gr)

1/2 cup red bell pepper strips ( 65 gr) , white bits & seeds removed

1 fat clove of garlic, peeled & finely cut up

black pepper

Maldon sea salt

a fruity extra virgin olive oil

1 cup + 1/2 cup of finely cut up brown mushrooms, cleaned (135 gr)

1 cup of rinsed, well-drained canned pinto beans (187 gr ) This is a bit less than 1 can

1 teaspoon of ras-el-hanout, divided into 1/2 teaspoon + 1/2 teaspoon

2 raw coconut curry wraps

1. Take a larger non-stick pan & heat up on higher heat. When hot, add some drizzles of that fruity oil. Now, add chopped garlic, red pepper & witloof strips. Stir often. Add 8 grins of black pepper & some pinches of sea salt. Stir often. After 5 minutes or so, add your cut up mushrooms & stir everything round into the pan. add 1/2 teaspoon of ras-el-hanout & fry further. When your mushrooms are nearly tender & browned, add your spinach leaves & fold them into the veggie mix. after 1 minute, add your pinto beans. Stir everything round into the pan & heat up your beans. Finally, add the other 1/2 teaspoon of ras-el-hanout & check your seasoning one last time. I added a few pinches of sea salt & 10 grins of black pepper. It has to taste pungent & aromatic, not bland! 😉

2. Place a wrap onto a smaller squared plate or a wider bowl & place your raw curried coconut wrap in it. Folding is easier this way! Add a few spoonfuls of your filling on it. Like this:

Now, do this:

Then do this:

Finally, do this:

Now, you can add a bit more filling to the top inside of your wrap but I didn’t bother. Go on, gobble them all up & enjoy yourself doing so! 🙂 I had a bit of the filling over & ate it just like that. Enjoy it twice! 🙂 xxx You can also find this tasty recipe here:

Sojami: Tartimi spread with garlic & 5 sort of peppercorns: review!

It is a French product. The name Tartimi comes from the French word: tartine, meaning bread slice,…:)

This Vegan, Gluten-Free Tofu spread with garlic & 5 sort of crushed peppercorns is amazing & just fantastic in flavor too. A few days ago, I could taste it @ my local Bio-planet. I think this is like the vegan version of Boursin with garlic & peppercorns! It tastes the same but has no lactose & dairy in it! You can’t taste the soy at all! That is what I like!

I read on the package that you could use it as a spread on bread, crackers & baguette but you could also use it to cook with! I can imagine it stirred through a spelt pasta dish! Yummm! 🙂

The ingredients are all organic: Lacto-fermented tofu: 92%, extra virgin olive oil, not refined sea salt, oregano infusion, 5 sort of crushed peppercorns, infusion of garlic & garlic. That is it. You can read it in Dutch here, straight from the package:

Keep it in the fridge!

What does it cost you? Well, for a package of 125 gr is was: 2.63€. This is my favorite tofu spread, like ever! x MMM

My favorite vegan chocolate!

Hey all, this is my favorite vegan ” milk chocolate” with whole nuts! I first met this tasty chocolate 2 years ago, when traveling in Berlin, the vegan city! 😉 I bought this lovely vegan chocolate aka ” milk” chocolate in the vegan supermarket called Veganz! I love all of their chocolate products! I know that you would like them too! But they are hard to find here in Belgium! I bought it @ Shavt! This is a tiny all vegan shop in the city center of Leuven. Shavt stands for Simply Healthy And Vegan Things! I was there yesterday. In a future post, I will review this tiny cool vegan shop.

On one side it will look like this:

On the other side like this:

It looks something like this in its package:

It looks great & so appetizing, hey?

I tasted many vegan chocolates before & I always loved the normal milk chocolate in my life. But being lactose-intolerant, I can’t eat & digest many normal milk chocolates anymore & that is why, I turned to vegan ” milk” chocolates. I tried many varieties with rice milk but loved only a few of them & then, one day, I tasted the chocolates of Vantastic Foods. See here the range in Veganz supermarket in Berlin! Click on the picture below that goes directly to my post: all things vegan in Berlin!

This vegan chocolate has so much flavor, with whole skinned hazelnuts in it. The flavor of the chocolate is really lovely & not too sweet with a hint of salt at the end! Super duper! 🙂 Ooh yes!

Now, you like to know, what are the ingredients?

Well, here they are: Sugar, cacao butter, cacao mass, maltodextrin, hazelnuts ( 15% ), Soy protein, salt, vanilla aroma. Emulgator: soy lecithin.

Their chocolate is made without gen tecnetics. This chocolate bar is also vegan, lactose-free & gluten-free! 🙂 It costed me: 3.49€. That is still a lot of money , but the vegan aka “milk” chocolate is sooooo delicious! 🙂

What is your favorite vegan chocolate???

Review: Bonvita’s Bon Ice! Dark chocolate covered Rice Ice-cream pops!

Today, I tried out a new product! Bonvita is the brand. I tried their Bon Ice: Dark chocolate covered Rice Ice-Cream pops! 🙂 I like the sound of that!

This is a Dutch firm. These Bon ice pops are Dairy-free, Lactose-free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, Organic & Fair Trade too! 🙂 That is a whole lot to live up too!

Each one is 100 gr/120 ml. One costed me: 1.70 € in my local Bio-Planet.

Rice Ice-Cream covered in Dark chocolate! Vegan, Gluten-Free! :)
Rice Ice-Cream covered in Dark chocolate!
Vegan, Gluten-Free! 🙂

The ingredients, read on the back of the package are:

rice milk :51%, Pure Vegan Gluten-Free Dark Chocolate 29% ( cacao mass, raw cane sugar, cacao butter, vanilla ), raw cane sugar, Vanilla Bourbon, coconut oil, rice syrup, thickening agent : soy-lecithine & to thicken even more: locust bean gum & guar gum.

My opinion?

I liked it! It has a real vanilla flavour but rice ice-cream is a bit thin & less creamy but the general flavour is great though. 🙂 Thumbs up: Yes, yes! But one big downside is that the ice-cream really melts fast!!!

The dark chocolate coating is excellent! The dark chocolate has a minimum of 71% cacao in it!

All gone! :)
All gone! 🙂

My favourite cookbook of the moment! :)

This year, I am going to give you all, a monthly new post about my favourite cookbook of the month. I have several new cookbooks in my possession but also many old ones that I absolutely love. Each month, I am going to review 1 of them & tell you all, why I love this specific cookbook so much. If I can, I give you a tried & tested recipe of each cookbook & maybe I can convince you too ! 😉

My favourite cookbook of the month!
My favourite cookbook of the month!

This book is from the famous Kriss Carr. She is a former actress & also she is a great cookbook writer, a vegan & photographer. She lives with a rare sort of cancer, type,  epithelioid hemangioendothelioma that is incurable!! She is living 10 years now with her cancer! She has Stage IV cancer, no cure, no treatment, no options. She is one very courageous woman. You can read more about her life-changing story, Here!

I was already following her in her blog posts & her recipes rock! I bought this book 10 days before Christmas & it is a whole vegan, healthy approach to life in general. What she says & does, I believe in. Her vegan recipes are totally inspiring for me & my husband Peter.

First, she explains her way of living & how to do it, with great tips too. Her table of contents, is divided into 4 courses, the 1st course, with recipe names like: Burn, Baby, Burn & I, like it raw, etc, will get your attention! She also explains her lifestyle philosophy & her sexy Crazy Diet too! 🙂 The 2nd course includes tools, recipes & how to prepare your daily foods to eat & prepare them better. The 3rd course is about the kitchen know-how & how to cook your grains, etc. The 4th course is all about crazy sexy recipes! This book has 150 plant-based recipes in it. She also wrote this book together with another chef, Chad Sarno! I never heard of this chef before , over here in Europe! Do you know him?

She also adds tasty vegan recipes from other chefs, who are guests, in her cookbook. This is Kris’s 4th book. Here is an example of one of her many tasty recipes:

In her book you can find, tasty salads, tasty smoothies, lovely juices, great breakfast recipes, with names like Tofu country scramble, French toast with home-made vegan Amaretto crème, etc. You also can find tasty soups & stews like this one:

You can 2 click on this picture & make it straight away!
You can 2 click on this picture & make it straight away!

( I love that she added chopped kale to the final dish for extra vegan plant power goodness! 😉 ) Hale to kale!

She also has a chapter on sandwiches & wraps with names like Curried Nada-egg with watercress wraps & save the Tuna salad on rye,… Another cool chapter is sensual starters,…She also has a chapter called sexy sides, dressing, marinades & condiments! It is a really great vegan whole foods cook book!

She explains her recipes very well & I also love her writing, with good tips, under her recipes! 😉 She takes her whole book & her top-notch vegan recipes & dishes to a whole new level! She also presents her dishes very well,…I learn a lot from her! 🙂

I made this recipe from her, on page 189, under the chapter, Main Events, called Teriyaki tofu with wild mushrooms & soba noodles but used some other veggies in here & used 100% buckwheat noodles because I had them in the house. It was a lot of work for me to do, making the marinade for the tofu & making an orange & wine reduction as an extra sauce for the tofu & wokked veggies but in the end, it was really worth it!!! These are my pics!

100% buckwheat noodles with veggies stir-fry!

I also want to prepare all of her tasty sounding & looking recipes, just like this tasty easy dessert, Clementine Sorbet, you can find it on page 269, it looks very appetizing, doesn’t it, hey?

It looks very yum yum!

RAW Bite Bars: Review! :)

Today, I finally found some Raw Bite bars from Denmark! I saw these bars a year ago when I was visiting Veganz, the Vegan supermarket in Berlin! I took pics from these lovely coloured packaged bars & wanted to take them with me but unfortunately, I already bought other great vegan edibles. So, when I visited my old food health shop in Brussels today , I could finally buy them & test them out! They look super cool, don’t they?

Colourful packaged Raw Bite bars!
Colourful packaged Raw Bite bars!

I bought these 4 different bars:

1. Raw Bite: Raw cacao, 2. Raw Bite: Spicy Lime, 3. Raw Bite: Vanilla Berries & 4. Raw Bite: Raw Protein

All of these bars are mostly raw bars, that are Vegan, Dairy-Free & Gluten-Free too! 🙂 These bars are only sweetened with the natural sugars of the fruits that are used! Yes, please! 🙂

All these bars are each 50 gr. In my food health shop, they came, each 1.89€. I saw them online for a lot more!

I found this stated on their own Raw-Bite website: RAWBITE, A COMPANY BUILT ON A RAW PHILOSOPHY

Rawbite was founded in Denmark by Morten, Nikolaj and Rolf.

The idea behind Rawbite was to create a simple, honest and healthy product easy to bring along and enjoy anywhere. This idea resulted in the organic fruit and nut bite, Rawbite.

Since the first Rawbite was created on the kitchen table, the interest for the product has not stopped growing in Denmark, as well as in the other 24 countries where Rawbites are now available. Everything in Rawbite is driven by simplicity, joy and enthusiasm for the product. Even though the kitchen table can no longer fit the production, recipes are still developed here and no one stops until the taste is amazing. The product itself is created with the utmost respect for the natural ingredients which are processed carefully with no use of heat at all.

 1. Raw Bite: Raw Cacao:

It has dates (54% ), a combo of almonds & cashews (36% ) & cacao (10%.) These ingredients are all organic!

A mild chocolate flavour with almonds & dates!
A mild chocolate flavour with pieces of almonds, cashews & dates!

Normally, I don’t dig dates as much but in here you didn’t taste them, I thought! The bar was mildly chocolately with added pieces of almonds & cashews. I liked this cacao snack a lot! A fruity flavour with cacao & mixed nuts! This bar was a great healthy snack & it was just what I needed. I ate it with my daily café soy latte. Yum yum,….:) I will surely buy this one again!

2 .Raw Bite: Spicy Lime:
