The lovely breakfast smoothies before adding the Raw cacao nibs!

Today, I made Vegan, Gluten-Free Raw cacao nibs, banana, vanilla almond smoothies! These are very filling too! πŸ™‚ We drank them as a nice filling breakfast before going, on a long walk! πŸ™‚

Recipe: For 1750 ml = 7 cups of liquid

Ingredients:

1000 ml of home-made unsweetened vanilla almond milk

2 ripe large banana, peeled & each cut up into 2

1/2 cup + 1/3 cup raw cacao nibs

3 pitted dates ( or a few more, if you like itΒ to be a bit more sweet! πŸ˜‰ )

1 cup + 1/2 cup larger full oat flakes

Method:

1. Take your Vitamix. Put all your ingredients in this order in it. Blend on full & high-speed until fully joined, using the tamper to push ingredients into the running blades. Blend for about 15 to 30 seconds max. Taste! It has to taste yummy & you must taste the richer chocolate flavour of the raw cacao nibs & the vanilla almond flavour!!! Enjoy!

  4. A glorious start to any day, no doubt! I’ve been really into raw cacao nibs lately, but I hadn’t yet thought to incorporate them into smoothies. I’d be tempted to leave it crunchy and make a mint chocolate chip version. πŸ˜‰

  5. That is some smashin’ smoothie you’ve got there! I loveeeeee homemade almond milk and made two batches last week – it’s really tasty with fresh cinnamon. Now I wanna try this with raw cacao nibs & banana πŸ˜‰

  6. This looks great Sophie, I love the idea of adding cacao nibs to a smoothie. Unfortunately my blender isn’t good enough to make them smooth so I normally just add powder. A great way to start the day πŸ™‚ x
