2 lovely vegan Gluten-Free sweet potato fries recipes!

These days,  I make a lot of oven side dishes because it is very tasty, easy to do & all in 1 oven dish! These 2, are my favourite home-made sweet potato fries recipes! Check them out!

1. Recipe: Spiced sweet potato fries!

2 to 3 large sweet potatoes, peeled, cut into wedges or fries/ They don’t have to be equal in size, that doesn’t matter!

some Maldon sea salt

4 to 5 tablespoons of a fruity extra virgin olive oil ( evoo )

1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

3 teaspoons of smoked sweet paprika/ This is Spanish sweet ( dulce ) smoked paprika/ This smoked paprika has a more sweeter smoked flavour! 🙂


1. Preheat your oven to 220°C ( 425 F ) for 10 minutes. Take a large non-stick oven dish & place all of your sweet potatoes fries in 1 layer in it. Scatter your cayenne pepper & smoked paprika all over them, equally divided. Drizzle your fruity evoo all over it. Scatter some Maldon sea salt over it, but not too much! With clean hands, mingle everything together so that the spices & oil are all over the fries, on both sides! Roast in the center of the hot oven until ready & cooked through & the house will smell amazing! I roasted mine for about 25 minutes. after 10 minutes of roasting, turn your potato fries over for an equal bake & to prevent burning! Test to see if they are done with a fork! Take them out of the oven & after a 5 minute wait, devour them!!!! 😉

2. Recipe: Spiced sweet potatoes with home-made dry spice blend!

2 big sweet potatoes, peeled, cut into wedges or fries = 500 gr weighted when peeled & cut into fries

1 big white onion, peeled & cut into wedges

7 to 8 big cloves of garlic, unpeeled!

4 to 5 tablespoons of a fruity extra virgin olive oil ( evoo )

1/2 teaspoon of Maldon sea salt

5 grins of finely milled black pepper

2 teaspoons + 1/2 teaspoon of Sophie’s home-made dry spice blend!

Recipe: for Sophie’s mixed dry spice blend aka rub = 33 gr!

3/4 teaspoon of Maldon sea salt, crushed

1 tablespoon of ground cumin

1 tablespoon of garam masala

2 teaspoons of ground coriander

2 teaspoons of spiced curry powder

2 teaspoons of smoked paprika, the dulce version, this is the more mild sweeter variation!

1 teaspoon of ground ginger

10 grins of finely milled black pepper


1. Take a medium bowl & ad every spice. Mix with a little whisk. Place in a fitted pot with fitted lid. Use in this recipe: 2 teaspoons + 1/2 teaspoon! 🙂


Method for the spiced sweet potato fries with home-made dry spice blend:

1.  Preheat your oven to 200°C ( 400 F ) for 10 minutes. I always use a fan oven. Adjust your oven to the right temperature.

2. In a large non-stick oven dish, lay your sweet potato fries in 1 layer in it. Tuck your onion wedges between your potato fries. Place your unpeeled garlic cloves all in between the rest. Now, scatter your spice blend, your sea salt & black pepper all over the rest. Drizzle your fruity evoo all over the dish. With clean hands, mingle everything together & roast in the center of the oven until ready & cooked through! Mines were ready after 30 to 35 minutes. In half of the roasting time, turn your onion wedges & sweet potato fries over on the other side to prevent burning & for an equal bake! Test with a knife or fork to see if they are okay & done. After 5 minutes of waiting, you can devour it all! The garlic cloves you must peel on your plate & suck the roasted sweet garlic all out! 😉 The garlic is now soft on the inside & all sweet! The roasted sweet potato fries are a bit spicy but just wonderful! Yummy! I ate them with a mixed iceberg salad, mixed colourful Heirloom tomatoes, fresh raw spring onion rings & dipped them into home-made veganaise! 😉 Enjoy! ♥ Stay Tuned & subscribe by email!   7. I always order sweet potato, when ordering fries in a restaurant, but I’ve never made them at home. Isn’t that strange? Next time I make fries, I’ll try your spiced sweet potato recipe. They sound too yummy to pass up!
