Vegan cookies review & a garden update!

Organic vegan 8 grain cranberry cookies & organic vegan 8 grain chocolate cookies!

Organic vegan 8-grain cranberry cookies & organic vegan 8-grain chocolate cookies!

Yesterday, I was searching for awesome vegan store-bought cookies. Here in Belgium, mostly, you can find vegan cookies in a good food health shop. We don’t have specialized vegan food shops over here,…I can only dream about vegan bakeries, big sigh! 😦 But these cookies mustn’t be overloaded with bad sugars & bad ingredients. They must look good & appetizing too. In most food health shops, you can find a few vegan cookies, if you look very hard but they look & taste terribly & we don’t want that, do we? What I want in a vegan cookie, is the same value & quality that I want in creating my own vegan cookies. Maybe you do too?

You know that I love to use whole grain, different flours & especially spelt flours, don’t you? I found these beautiful cookies! Check them out!

These organic & vegan cookies with chocolate or with cranberry, are made by Billy’s farm Organic. This is an organic Dutch farm from Drachten, Friesland in The Netherlands.

They make all sorts of yummy organic cookies & all of them are vegan! On top of that, their cookies don’t have any beet or cane sugar in them.

The cookies are sweetened with cereal sirups or with fruit. A lot of the cookies have different grains in them.

Here is their website in English:Β Β Billy’s Farm Organic

Review 1 : Billy’s Farm Organic 8-grain cookies with chocolate!

Verdict:

These cookies are individually wrapped. Each cookie is 20 gr & 1 whole package of these cookies weights, 160 gr. This package has 8 sachets so 8 cookies in them. It costed me 2.50 € in the Bioplanet.

I love this crunchy, tasty vegan cookie. It is firm in your hand & crumbly in your mouth,…Just the way I like it. It is also a really filling cookie. If you eat 2 of them, it is a great breakfast, it is that filling for me! πŸ™‚ A breakfast on the go to!Β The only downside is that there must be more chocolate into each cookie! πŸ™‚Β Use: It is tasty on its own or dipped into a hot vegan chocolate or with a lovely vegan cafΓ© latte. I drank it with an organic caffeine free mint tea! See picture above!

    • Sophie33 says:

Allez, you mustn’t be jealous, Danny!
We only have a city garden, but my hubby Peter & I both love it. We have smaller trees & bushes & flowers. The rest we grown into containers. We have parts of shadow & parts of sunlight. In full Summer, we have the sunshine for 12 hours in our garden, from 8 AM till 8 PM! πŸ™‚

  2. Barbara says:

Those look delicious….wonder if I can find them here?
    Love your garden, Sophie.

  4. Your salad garden pot is looking very lush! Mmm mmm….

  5. I’m going to be keeping an eye on your pumpkin plant to see how well it grows. Have you tried it before? We planted a watermelon plant last year, but only one watermelon grew. It got to about the size of a softball almost overnight, then didn’t grow any more then entire summer.

Our garden is in as well. Perhaps I’ll shoot some photos and do a blog on it.

    Hope all is well!

Wow, Sophie your garden is looking beautiful! My mint and chive plants have sprung back this year. It’s probably another week or two before I plant the rest of my garden.

  9. Koko says:

Great cookie reviews! I enjoy all the very same qualities in cookies that you do! Your garden is stunning! Have you moved recently?? Is it a bigger garden than before? Well, either way, you are doing great job and I’m glad you can use all those lovely homegrown items in your recipes!! πŸ˜€

    • Sophie33 says:

Me, too, Koko! No, we didn’t move house. It is the same garden as last year!

    • Sophie33 says:

It is just a bottom from another pot because salad leaves doesn’t need much earth & depth! Easy does it here!

      Thanks for stopping by, Fae!

  20. i like to gardening my own greens to now….
since i sed to buy a whole bucket of fresh greens and use a lil of that for plating….hehehe
i guess this cn solved my budget issue too….

  21. Your Japanese cherry tree is so beautiful!

Love that pumpkin plant. Pumpkins are hands down one of my favorites in the garden, I love how they take over and just grow where they want to grow. When I was a child we grew pumpkins and it basically just took up our entire yard, it was such a proud moment in 3rd grade cutting my own pumpkin that we grew. Many years later, I’m still just as excited!

  22. Starr says:

Sophie, your garden is beautiful (especially that Peony Rose). I envy your green thumb!

The cookies look delicious, but your plants are spectacular! Do you not have many pests over there? They look like like they are thriving. I especially love the spring blossoms, I miss the beautiful flowers in Europe.

    • Sophie33 says:

Thanks,… πŸ™‚ We also have pests in the Summer & we deal with it, as good as you can! πŸ˜‰
Don’t you have spring blossoms in the area where you live, in full Spring?

  27. boeddhamum says:

Are you living in another climate zone, Sophie, your garden looks so sunny and the plants grow great!!
    πŸ˜‰
    Enjoy

    • Sophie33 says:
